Want To Buy A New Home But Your Current Home Is Not Selling? Make These Design Changes
Posted on: 21 November 2016
If you want to purchase a new home but you cannot until your current home is purchased, you can make some design changes. When making changes, do not consider things you would like, but instead keep your buyers in mind when designing. Below are some tips on how you can do this so you can get into your new home quicker.
Paint with Color
White is a very boring color. Make your interior standout by adding some color to your walls. The colors you choose depend on the type of buyers you want to appealing to.
For example, if your buyers are well-educated people, use colors that are more subdued. If your buyers are not as educated or if they are more laid back, use pastel or primary colors.
If you are selling your home in the spring/summer months, choose cool colors, which are relaxing and more subdued. Some cool colors you could choose include green, grey, and blue. You could still have some white, just not white on every wall.
Large Rooms
If you have rooms that are filled with furniture, decorations, etc., you need to remove these things.
For example, remove large chairs and replace them with smaller, upholstered chairs. This may not be something you would choose for yourself, but this type of furniture will not take up as much room. This will make the room appear larger, as well as more organized.
Personal Items
Remove all personal photographs from the walls, as well as the photographs sitting on tables. Replace them with simple decorations, such as a vase with artificial flowers, and a traditional painting on the wall. If your children have trophies from academic achievements or sports that are displayed, remove them also.
Buyers want to envision their things in their new home, and this will be difficult for them to do if the home is already cluttered with your personal items.
Kitchen
Most buyers consider the kitchen as to be a very important feature in a home. If your kitchen currently has outdated appliances or appliances that do not match, you should consider replacing them if doing so is in your budget. Stainless steel is popular today. You can also find appliances that have a dark grey finish if you do not like the color of stainless steel. This type of finish would look great if you have grey cabinets.
